“Beads and Beans” by Unhindered by Talent
This one’s perfect when you feel your immune system dipping with the temperature. A nice shock of life and earthy health.
Block of firm tofu
Bag of dry black beans
Bunch of fresh cilantro
One white onion Clove of garlic
NY White Chili Powder
Cook black beans according to directions on bag. Separate beans from bean water. Fill large pot with bean water and match that amount with tap water. Simmer. Fry hand-crumbled tofu, quartered onion, one quarter of the cilantro (chopped fine) with olive oil. Add fry mix (the tofu, etc) to simmering bean water. Season to taste with onion powder, salt, pepper, NY White Chili Powder, and add black beans back in. Add cilantro to taste.
Fry minced clove of garlic with one fourth of remaining cilantro ‘til brown. Add to pot. Turn up heat (mid level) and cover. Cook for three hours. Go outside, breathe fresh air, and think about how much you love to eat food that makes you feel strong and alive. Go inside. Eat soup with people you love. Feel great for days and don’t take any crap from anybody.BIO: Adam Gnade's (guh nah dee) work is released as a series of books and records that share characters and themes; the fiction writing continuing plot-lines left open by the self-described "talking songs" in an attempt to compile a vast, detailed, interconnected, personal history of contemporary American life.
